Justin Charms Grants Pass

Alecia introduced the newest member of the family to his fan club in GP today. He was a smiley, happy boy, delighting all around the lunch table. His face changed as fast as light on water with each new sight or sound coming from the big world.

Paula's mothering skills have been well passed to Alecia. Seeing her in this new role is quite a thrill. Considering the families that Jim and Chris have established also........think the "Sit down, shut up, and watch tv" school of child rearing has not received near the wild acclaim it should have.

Oregon Paleo Lands Institute

Our desire to visit ancient Oregon met with success. Madelyn and I attended the fieldtrips offered by OPLI during spring break. Michelle Ordway lead us to locations where fossils of leaves, teeth, bones and marine life were to be found. The samples were taken back to the "lab" and put under a disecting microscope and photographed. Ellen Bishop taught a workshop on digital photography that will certainly help us hone our skills.

The John Day country is one of splendid landforms. Rock of many shapes, textures, and colors is found here.

Even though one day we got snowed on, and then rained on, there were still many days of brilliant sunshine and crystal clear air. The cars had heavy frost every morning except one. We chose to take advantage of indoor sleeping this trip!
